The Story of Gaia’s Gratitude Blend

Sep 14, 2025

I’ve been offering back to the Earth for as long as I can remember, even before I knew what an offering was. I’d walk barefoot through the forest, run my hands across tree trunks like they were old friends, pour out the last sip of my tea into the soil with a quiet thank you. None of it was formal, none of it was planned, but looking back, I can see that my body already knew. My heart already knew.

There’s a pull in me that I can’t ignore, because the land has carried me through so much. She has been the one to hold my grief, my joy, my too-muchness. Every time I’m moved by her beauty or steadied by her silence, I feel the need to say thank you.

There have been moments when the land has brought me to tears—by her beauty, by her stillness, by the way she seemed to know me before I even knew myself. I didn’t need to name it. I didn't need to understand it. I just needed to keep showing up.

The Day My Hands Were Empty

Last Christmas, I went to make an offering and realized I had nothing left. The shop where I usually picked up what I needed was closed, and my bundle was empty. I almost skipped it. Told myself it was fine. But it didn’t feel fine. It felt like my heart had something to say and my hands had no language to speak it with.

So I searched through my shelves.

Lavender from a past ritual.

Rosemary I’d dried months ago.

Cedar gathered close to home.

And a beautifully braided sweetgrass, gifted with such care that I had been saving it for the right moment.

This felt like that moment.

I lit a candle, put on music, and let myself pause. Each herb was placed slowly, with love and with reverence. I stirred the blend gently, whispering thank you, thank you, thank you, as if the words themselves could sink into the ingredients. And before I sealed it, I infused the whole blend with Reiki—my energy, my blessing, a current of love flowing through my hands into what I was creating.

That day, Gaia’s Gratitude Blend was born. Not as something brand new, but as a remembering. A continuation of all the ways I had already been pausing, already been honouring, long before I called it an offering.

What Offering Has Taught Me

Since then, Gaia’s Gratitude Blend has become part of my practice. Sprinkled at the roots of trees. Laid down by the ocean. Carried in my pocket on hikes. Shared with friends, with clients, with community.

And through it all, I’ve learned something simple and true: you don’t need the “perfect” blend to offer gratitude. You don’t need to know the right steps or words. You just need to pause, place something down with love, and honour the connection that has always been there.

Because an offering isn’t about performance. It’s about presence. It’s about that one deep breath where you remember, oh right… I belong here.

An Invitation

Gaia’s Gratitude Blend is simply my way—a blend of herbs, reverence, Reiki, and prayer that carries my heart forward. And it’s here for you too if you feel called to begin or deepen your own offering practice.

✨ You can find Gaia’s Gratitude Blend through Blissful Being, at Sass the Spa in Campbell River, Inwards Market in Victoria, and The Studio in Sooke.

✨ And if you long for more practices and community to support you, the Inner Peace Club is always open.

Because this practice isn’t just mine.

It’s ours.

A remembering we can each carry in our own way.

I’ve left a light on for you.
